MiddleChild: What’s going on ladies?
Felisha: What’s up?
MiddleChild: Nothing much! Now this is your second album. How excited are you
ladies about bringing us more music?
Felisha: We’re definitely excited. We took our time and patience with this album
and we think you all are going to love it.
MiddleChild: Okay. Now with the first album do you feel we got to know the real
Cherish or are we moreso going to get to know you on this album as individuals
and a group on this effort?
Felisha: Well the first one was more like “We’re here. Yada Yada Ya” and get
people to talking and this time around it’s time for people to actually know
exactly who we are, what we represent and who Cherish is as a whole.
MiddleChild: So what’s going to be the biggest difference between the two
efforts?
Fallon: The biggest difference to me is the fact that you grow artistically
whenever you’re being creative and we’ve been creative for the past couple of
years. Our artistry has grown. When we wrote The Truth…we named the album The
Truth because basically every song on the album is from personal experiences and
we wanted to get personal with our fans. We want everybody to know that they’re
not alone going through these things and we’re here.
MiddleChild: I know you write most of your music. Was that ever a struggle or
did you have the option out the gate to go in the lab and create your sound?
Fallon: It really would have been a struggle if we didn’t or weren’t able to
write our own songs because then we wouldn’t have the chance to be creative if
we didn’t write our own music. So it’s definitely made it much easier. Not
everybody gets to take their personal experiences, put their thoughts on paper,
record it in the studio and then have everybody else listen to it. So it’s like
our fans are like our counselors. (laughs)
MiddleChild: Well I know there were fans who may have wanted this song or that
song from the debut album released as a single. Was there any song in particular
that wasn’t released that you may have wanted released as a single?
Felisha: No. I think every single that was chosen, we sort of picked.
Farrah: Every song we wrote so it didn’t matter what the single was going to be.
We just wanted to make sure it was the right one.
MiddleChild: Well let me let you know that one of my favorite songs from you so
far is “Fool For You”. That’s my song.
Farrah: You like that record? I like that record too.
MiddleChild: Yea. It’s one of my favorites. Now I got the chance to check out
the sampler and I must say that even though I haven’t heard the full song yet
I’m all over “Amnesia”. The vocals are on point and I like “Notice” as well.
Felisha: (laughs) Thank you.
MiddleChild: So with that being said. How do you get a guy to notice you?
Felisha: I think it’s all in the sex appeal. The look or your swag. It depends.
Farrah: Well I am just a flirt anyway. So I don’t know. (all laugh)
MiddleChild: That’s what’s up. So like I said “Amnesia” is a hot record also.
How did you come up with the concept for that one?
Fallon: You know every song on The Truth is from personal experience, so with
that being said “Amnesia” was actually a personal experience so when we wrote
the song it was from a past relationship of our own and we could actually relate
to every song on the album.
MiddleChild: Well what’s the worse thing that has happened to you in the course
of a relationship?
Felisha: UGH! The worse thing that has happened to me in a relationship was when
I got cheated on. I think everybody has gotten cheated on. Everyone! And it’s
not a very good feeling. That’s why I wrote the song “Lovesick” because that
relates to my past.
MiddleChild: Okay. I know a lot of artists are doing reality shows and reality
specials right now. Is that something that you girls have thought about doing?
Fallon: We were actually offered a reality show over the last year and I’m not
sure why that didn’t happen, but we have a couple of offers. We’re actually have
a movie we’re going to shoot and we’re looking forward to that.
MiddleChild: Cool. What’s your guilty pleasure?
Farrah: Guilty pleasure? That’s a good question.
Felisha: I like anything sour. Is that a guilty pleasure? No?
MiddleChild: It works. (laughs)
Felisha: It works? (laughs)
Farrah: Yea. I like sour stuff. Sometimes it’s not really good for me, but I do
anyway. Fallon? Any?
Fallon: I’m not sure. I really don’t…I can’t think of any right now. I’ll have
to come back to that one. (laughs) I have no idea.
MiddleChild: Cool. Well since you write your own songs I know you will say most
of them are your favorites, but what is the one song that is your favorite and
not only that but what you would tell us to check for?
Felisha: I would definitely say “Amnesia” because the things that we say in it
are solid. Everyone can relate to it. The music, the song, the writing all comes
together collectively and it’s wonderful. It’s a beautiful song.
MiddleChild: Definitely. So what’s the new single going to be.
Fallon: Well the first single is called “Killa” featuring Yung Joc and the
second single is probably going to be “Amnesia”.
MiddleChild: Well I know I’ll be looking out for that. The Truth drops April
29th!
Farrah: Yes it does!
MiddleChild: Are you going to hit the road this summer?
Felisha: Well we’re on our promotional tour right now and this summer we’re
definitely going to hop on a tour. We got a lot of offers but I don’t want to
speak on anything right now.
MiddleChild: Cool. Well once those dates are confirmed, I know they’ll get them
to me. So we’ll be on the lookout. What’s the best way for your fans to reach
you?
Felisha: Just hit us up on our myspace. It’s www.myspace.com/cherishsisters and
our website is www.cherishsisters.com.
Fallon: And our album will be out April 29th!
MiddleChild: Well that’s the business. We’ll be ready for it. I hope yall have a
good day and MiddleChild Promotions got ya back.
Cherish: Thank you. Good bye.
