Rap mogul Jay Z surprised his fans with a snippet of a new song, to promote a brand-new hip-hop album. The rapper dropped a teaser for a song called “Adnis” off of his new album titled 4:44, which will reportedly be released at midnight on June 30.
“Letter to my dad that I never wrote/Speeches I prepared that I never spoke/Words on the paper that I never read/Prose’s never penned they stayed in my head.”
Earlier this month, a trailer promoting the release hit the Internet, but most people concluded the message was related to the new movie “4:44.”
The new album from Jay Z is his first release since 2013’s Magna Carta Holy Grail, which hit #1 on Billboard’s Top 200 charts.
The news of an upcoming album release caps off a busy weekend for Jay Z.
His wife Beyoncé gave birth to twins over the weekend and the rapper spent Father’s Day donating money to various charities to help incarcerated men who can’t afford bail to get out of jail.
Jay also became the first rapper ever to be inducted into the songwriters Hall of Fame.
