My dad is doing fine everyone ! Thanks for the concerns you guys are amazing
After his latest seizure scare Lil Wayne’s daughter says her dad is doing just “fine.” Reginae Carter tweeted on Monday (Sept. 4) that “my dad is doing fine everyone! Thanks for the concerns you guys are amazing,” adding “oh yeah… & don’t believe everything you hear.”
Carter was reacting to concern for Wayne, 34, after the rapper was hospitalized on Sunday (Sept. 3) after he was reportedly found unconscious in his Chicago hotel room, leading to the cancellation of his show in Las Vegas at Drais Beachclub. Doctors at Northwestern Memorial advised against immediately releasing Wayne due to his latest run of poor health, according to TMZ.
“Lil Wayne and the entire Young Money / Maverick team are valued partners and members of the Drai’s LIVE family,” the show’s promoters explained in a social media post. “Our priority is the health and well-being of our artists. Everyone at Drai’s wishes Lil Wayne a speedy recovery during this time.”
The rapper, whose real name is Dwayne Michael Carter Jr, has had a string of health setbacks in recent years. He was hospitalized in June 2016 after suffering what was described at the time as two minor seizures just days prior to his planned appearance at the E3 Expo in Los Angeles. And in 2013, Wayne spent time in an intensive care unit. “The reason being for the seizures is just plain stress, no rest, overworking myself. That’s just typical me though,” he said at the time.
A fan who saw Wayne in concert in St. Petersburg, Florida, on Friday night (Sept. 1) said the rapper was full of energy and “spoke clear as day” during the show at Jannus Live in Florida, according to People. “He was jumping around the stage,” Wyatt Cheshire told the magazine. “He was so on point! Seemed to me he had high energy. I was close enough to see that he appeared to be drinking water bottles all night on stage, and he spoke clear as day.”
