On Thursday night, Robert “Meek Mill” Williams was taken into custody in New York City for reckless endangerment. Police arrested the Wins & Losses rapper after seeing him on Instagram allegedly riding a motorbike without a helmet in Manhattan.
Meek supposedly posted an IG video of himself popping wheelies on Wednesday around 8:20 pm and then got busted at 10:15 pm the next day.
“That level of investigation is normally reserved for heinous crimes, not for petty offenses like doing a wheelie on the street where you’re endangering no one’s life but your own,” stated Joseph Tacopina, the Philadelphia native’s lawyer.
Meek could be facing felony charges.
“It really stinks of obvious targeting an individual who is a celebrity and maybe who law enforcement don’t like, and it’s not what the system is supposed to be about,” Tacopina added.
Footage of the exchange between Meek Mill and the arresting police officer was posted online.
