Chingy: Hate It Or Love It

Once Chingy announced he was releasing his new album, there was more talk about him being back with Disturbing The Peace rather than his work. I’m not sure if DTP gives him more promotion or better material, but I do know that Hate It Or Love It is a pretty decent album.

Although some of Chingy’s songs sound a little elementary at times, you can’t help but to get hooked on the melodic delivery. Chingy gets aggressive on Check My Swag. It’s a banger, catchy and shows Ching-a-ling can stand on his own. Most of the heat from the album comes in the form of collaborations though. Labelmate Steph Jones hops on All Aboard and Trey Songz helps out on the upbeat Spend Some Money. The current single, Gimme Dat, with DTP frontman Ludacris and Bobby Valentino is addictive. Although Chingy sounds a little like Ludacris on this record, it will definitely be on your playlist. He gets serious with Anthony Hamilton on They Don’t Know and pulls no stops on Kick Drum.

No one can say that any of Chingy’s previous singles lacked rhythm. He has always delivered a catchy record. I think it’s moreso the situations that occur behind the scenes that keep them on edge. Nonetheless, he’s here and he does his thing. Hate it or love it!
