Danity Kane: Welcome To The Dollhouse
The ladies of Danity Kane return with their sophomore effort, Welcome To The Dollhouse. With their debut being so over the place with R&B and Pop, fans wondered where they would take it with the new album. I’ll sum it up in two words: Pure Addiction!
With the intention of showcasing fun and edgy vocals, the album immediately takes off with the jumpy dance numbers “Bad Girl”, “Damaged” and melodic “Pretty Boy” before making it sexy with “Strip Tease” and “Sucka 4 Love”. Although I clearly feel that two of the best vocal offerings from the album are “Ecstasy” and “Lights Out”, don’t sleep on any of the records because each girl is in rare form. You can feel the hunger, passion and pain on each track. The sweet laced “Poetry” and flirty “2 of You” also take you to a place where you find yourself smiling at what Dawn, D. Woods, Shannon, Aubrey and Aundrea offered with the album.
Just when you think you found one song to call your favorite, it is due to change the more you listen. The only downside to the album is the fact that the interludes are not full songs. They clearly should go for that on the third album because this is the second album that they have teased us with the goods. Rating: 4.5 of 5 Stars
