Lyfe Jennings: Change
The more Lyfe changes, the more Lyfe stays the same. No seriously. Lyfe Jennings returns with a new album and delivers once again with soul, lyricism and relatability.
Lyfe opens the album encouraging people to keep their dreams alive and go for more in life on “Keep On Dreaming”. The dark anthem “Warriors” also displays great energy and inspiration as well. Lyfe is definitely in his element on “Never Never Land” and delivers his signature feel good emotions on wax that we as fans have grown accustomed to over the years. A small twist on the average love song, “Brand New” features Atlanta rapper T.I. and is clearly a shout out to the ladies that has held it down for their men before the fortune and fame. Two other album gems come in the form of “Midnight Train” and “You Think You Got It Bad” featuring Wyclef.
The art form of male singers giving emotion of wax may be rare, but you can definitely depend on Lyfe to give it to you. This album takes you on a journey and the fact that he left out all of the pointless interludes, makes the trip that much easier!
